Hotel Indigo, London K West Shepherd’s Bush

Set within the former BBC Kensington House recording studios, Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush occupies one of West London’s most culturally significant buildings. Once frequented by music legends including David Bowie, Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix, the building’s rich creative legacy provided the starting point for a narrative-led art programme that celebrates both the history of the site and the character of its surrounding neighbourhood. 

Our approach was built around two distinct narratives. The first draws inspiration from the building’s former life as a BBC recording studio, exploring themes of sound, rhythm and analogue technology through sculptural forms, graphic interventions and bespoke artworks that subtly reference the equipment and creative processes once housed within its walls. The second celebrates the origins of Shepherd’s Bush itself, taking cues from the area’s pastoral history and its namesake sheep, introducing playful moments of storytelling and locally inspired artworks that bring warmth, character and a strong sense of place to the guest experience.
