Great Scotland Yard, London

PROJECT

Investigating Great Art at Scotland Yard

History and hidden secrets are revealed in the artwork collection for Great Scotland Yard, London – the first UK hotel in Hyatt’s Unbound Collection.

The conversion of Great Scotland Yard Police HQ into a luxury hotel was a hugely prestigious project. As part of a team we were asked to create original art, as well as to frame, curate and install pieces by established and emerging artists – a project taking just over two years.

Using police records and memorabilia, we created a series of striking and highly-detailed story-filled installations, encapsulating London life from the Victorian era of Sir Robert Peel. Pieces include a layered, routed timber artwork depicting London, a rogues gallery wall and custom printed silk scarves.

We were also involved in the bespoke framing and hanging of Urbanski, Belinda Frikh and Nicola Green artworks – using conservation level framing and gold leafing. Our team were involved with everything from the logistics and storage to the white-glove installation of the artwork.
