‘Mi casa es tu casa’
‘Mi Casa es tu Casa’ was the essence of the interior mood and the art collection brief for this stylish Miiro hotel.
Artstory worked directly with the hotel’s Senior Management and Marketing team to realise their vision for cozy, relaxed spaces that connect staff and guests by celebrating local artists.
We commissioned a number of artists for key locations in the project. This included a work by Barcelona based, Spanish-Guinean multidisciplinary artist, Chidy Wayne, that takes centre stage in the lounge and 4 paintings by Barcelona born, Alicia Gimeno, that now hang in the reception and private dining room.
Every guest room has a unique handmade plate on the wall by Spanish ceramic artist Zaira which we also commissioned especially for the project.
For the rest of the collection we were able to make the most of Artstory’s Spanish art consultant’s local knowledge and expertise to curate art from Barcelona galleries, antique shops and source a handful of pieces from a local flea market thus adding further authentic layers and depth to the local narrative.
